Hi,guys .I am vignesh from ,Mumbai.....currently studying in chennai ....I have been staying in chennai for three long years..And i hv been travelling a lot to my home by all means of transport possible ....except some....I m gonna share my experience with you all...
There are three major ways of travelling from Mumbai to Chennai.They are by Flight,Train and by Bus...
Flight is usually the best ,convenient and easiest way of traveling to chennai from Mumbai...But it is one of the costliest mode of transport ...Usually it cost around 5k-10k( for economy class) if you happen to book the ticket before a day or a week. But if it is booked before a month or before ,it would usually cost around 3.5k-5k.
Railways ,on the other hand is among the most preferred mode of transport.It is one of the cheapest way of travelling....There are three trains running daily and one train which runs once a week.There is lot of options available ...there is sleeper ,three tier ,two tier and one tier available...It usually cost around 450/- to a maximum of about 3000/-.But there is a lot of problem booking tickets through IRCTC ,which makes it very inconvenient .There are lot of agent who can book a confirmed ticket ,bt they usually charge aroung 100-500,depending on the the season and the train ...The trains include
1. Dadar chennai superfast :- which takes about 24hrs and getting a confirm ticket is too difficult.It is usually on time.
2.Chennai express :-it takes about 26hrs...and it is also on time usually.
3.Chennai mail :- it takes more than 30 hrs...and easy to get a confirm ticket....Never on time..
4.Karaikal express :-it takes about 24hrs....and one runs once a week,ie saturday...as this is a new service ,getting a confirmed ticket is easy....
Buses usually ply from Mumbai to Banglore and Banglore to Chennai...The tickets can be booked from various sites ..The tickets usually cost around 1500/- to 3500/- depending on the operator....there is no operator providing single bus ..so hv to change from Banglore.....It takes about 22hrs to 25hrs depending on the travels operator......
Hence if price is not an issue ,flight is the best choice...If price is the concern then train is a better option ......and Bus can be opted if u feel comfortable travelling 24hrs...youngster like me can opt for bus as the ticket are cheaper than flight ,and can be booked easily, even the day before travel....
